The Paul Simon Story, A Life of Uncommon Courage, is a 90-minute documentary chronicling the life of the late corruption fighting newspaper publisher, state lawmaker, Illinois Lieutenant Governor, U.S. Congressman, and U.S. Senator Paul Simon (1928-2003).

Simon also taught political science, history, and journalism at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and founded the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute at the university.

P. S. Illinois covers Simon’s life and distinguished career – from his early days as a crusading journalist in Troy, Illinois to his service in the Illinois General Assembly as a Representative and Senator, to his statewide service as Lt. Governor, and through his five terms in the U.S. House and two terms in the U. S. Senate, including a 1988 bid for the Democratic Presidential nomination. It also provides personal interviews with friends and family and those who worked with him closely in government.
