Will Becque joined the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute as communications and marketing associate in October 2024, bringing more than 15 years of experience in strategic communications, digital marketing, media relations, and content creation.
At the Institute, Becque leads efforts to expand the Institute's reach and engagement through storytelling, multimedia content, social media strategy, website management, and the promotion of public programs and initiatives.
Before joining the Institute, Becque served as director of fundraising and social media for the Boys & Girls Club of Southern Illinois, where he developed and executed digital campaigns, managed online engagement, optimized website content, and analyzed performance metrics to strengthen community outreach. He also worked in recreation and collegiate athletics at Southern Illinois University, helping oversee student staff while supporting marketing efforts for campus recreation programs.
Becque spent more than a decade in collegiate sports communications, holding positions at Southern Illinois University, Smith College, Thiel College, Knox College, and Waynesburg University. As associate sports information director at SIU, he served as the primary media contact for multiple NCAA Division I programs, producing written and multimedia content, coordinating media relations, managing social media accounts, and supervising student employees. His work earned national recognition from the College Sports Communicators organization, including a third-place finish nationally for volleyball game notes and district recognition for athlete profile writing.
A native of Carbondale, Becque earned a Master of Business Administration from Waynesburg University and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Knox College.
