The Paul Simon Public Policy Institute’s annual statewide Simon Poll asks Illinois voters’ opinions on important current public policy topics, typically with a focus on state budget issues, political and electoral reform, politics, and social issues. The large-sample survey—usually at least 1,000 registered voters—contains representative samples from every region in Illinois, and dials cell phones as well as landlines. The Simon Poll generally attracts news media coverage throughout the state.
